5 Ways to Get Over a Recent Breakup

I just broke up with someone, so I’ve got a case of the blues. I admit, getting dumped is worse, but in my recent relationship, it felt like I was getting dumped once a month. Don’t ask… just a toxic relationship that I stayed in too long because the sex was hot. And you know why… because good sex is hard to find, and great sex is even harder. Here are my tips for getting over a bad (or good) relationship when you’re fresh out.

5 Ways to Get Over a Breakup

1. Binge Watch TV. Most of the time I think TV is a waste of time, but after a breakup, anything goes. And now that there’s so many good shows to watch, it’s a great way to curl up and escape. If you’re not someone who indulges, ask a few friends for reccomendations and grab the popcorn.

2. Create/Log In to Your Dating Profile. Time off is what I recommend but who says you can’t browse or get a few fawning messages that will make you feel good until you’re ready to jump back into the game.

3. Take a Trip. This is a great way to clear your head after a relationship ends. And if you can’t afford to jet set across the world, why not a road trip with a few friends. These are always fun. P.S. Never rule of vacation sex – it’s the best no-strings fun around!

4. Sex Sex Sex. Whether it’s through a dating site, a bar pickup, or a friend with benefits, sex is a great healer. It’s not my first go-to after a breakup, but it works for a lot of people, especially if you’re not into the TV idea.

5. Do What You Want. It’s time for you to focus on you. Maybe you were wanting to try skydiving but your partner never liked the idea, or maybe you wanted to check out that new Italian restaurant but your lover was gluten-free. Learning or trying new things make us feel better… and more attractive to others!
