Loving Bondage is Normal Whether You Know It or Not

Wrists Tied with Rope

Some people who are into kinky sex may feel isolated until they find the welcoming community of freaky people who are into similar BDSM activities. So, you may be surprised to find that certain fetishes are much more common than the average person thinks. BDSM activities used to be considered sexually deviant by the DSM-5, a manual that psychiatrists use to diagnose different issues.

A study, which comes from institutions associated with the University of Montreal, sought to show what normal kinksters fantasize about, so it could be determined which fantasies are actually more rare, and which ones are shared by a lot of open-minded sex partners. What’s clear from the study is that certain fun BDSM play techniques are on the top of a lot of lovers’ lists.

As it turns out, 52 percent of women and 46 percent of men surveyed said they had fantasized about being tied up by a lover as part of a sexy game. That means nearly half of those around you right now might be closeted kinksters themselves. 30 to 60 percent of women admitted to fantasizing about any submissive activity, including spanking or rough sex play, and 40 percent of women said they fantasized about being ejaculated on by their partners. It’s clear from this study, that people are definitely kinkier than you might think.

“Yes, we absolutely agree with this study.” Anna F, a representative at Kink Dating told us with a sly smile. “We can see that our members are normal people, who happen to like kinky sex and bondage. It makes doms and subs feel good to know there are other kinksters out there just like them, and this study proves that.” So, if you feel alone in your kink or fetish, just remember there are people out there who share your same sexual interests. We think there is someone out there for every person and every kind of consensual adult kink fetish.

Good article. Over time, things that were once considered taboo or a fetish have become more mainstream and accepted and no longer out of the norm. Even sexual positions, for example. Many even acted out fantasies or were submissive without even thinking it was a fetish. Luckily today, with the advances of fetish sites and writing on the internet, one can feel less and less that they are alone or somehow deviant knowing that there are many people with their views and desires, in fact, many people with even more fetish-related wants.
