Zentai Suit Fetish: The Kink of Morph Suits

What is a Zentai Suit?

Zentai suits are skin tight garments that cover the entire body. The word is a contraction of “zenshin taitsu,” Japanese for “full body tights”.

They are usually made of lycra, spandex, cotton, wool, and even metallic fibre. Traditionally, the bodysuit comes in the bold solid primaries of blue, red, and yellow. However, as the zentai fetish increased, they became available in various prints and colours.

The Rise of the Zentai Suit Fetish

Zentai came to popularity in Japan in the 1980s. It entered the fetish world and eventually moved west and spread in popularity.

Over the years the mainstream has latched on to “morph suits”. Sporting events, cultural gatherings, concerts, cosplay conventions, and raves are all places to find people wearing strange colourful full-body spandex suits.

To many it seems this craze came out of nowhere, and many people don’t realize these “morph suits” are in fact born of the Zentai fetish.

Zentai Fetish: What’s it About?

Zentai fetishists are attracted to the way the suit feels on their body. The wearers sexual arousal often comes from the anonymity the suit provides. Many Zentai fetishists say that wearing the suit allows them to become something else, something not quite human.

They also describe safety from the outside world, and a comfort in the anonymity the suit provides.

Historically, there hasn’t been much of a crossover between zentai and other fetishes. However, some BDSM lovers like the restriction of the suit. Occasionally fans of PVC and rubber may don a Zentai suit but again the crossover is minimal.
