Armpit Fetish: Yes, Your Underarms Are Sexy!

Woman's Shaved Armpit

Chances are, you’ve never heard the word maschalagnia before. What could this complex word possibly mean? Well, it means you might like licking, smelling, or touching your lover’s sweaty and smelly underarms. This might even lead to another lesser known term, axillism, or, armpit sex, in which lovers might rub their genitals in their partner’s hairy crevasse, but not the usual one. “It may sound strange,” admitted Tory, a dating relations coordinator at KinkDating.com, “but it makes perfect sense. An armpit is a very intimate and private area, just like genitalia.”

Some theorize that those with this fetish have a strong attraction to the pheromones that are expelled from the armpit on a daily basis. In most relationship, scent is an important part of the base level of attraction, but this fetish takes it to the next level. Some others, from a more psychological perspective, think that the armpit can represent the vagina. It looks similar and has many of the same pheromones and bodily chemicals in it.

There are many facets to this unique fetish. Some prefer their female lovers to go against the grain and leave their armpits natural and hairy, even though most women in the Western world today prefer to abide by societal standards and remove all the hair from their underarms. Conversely, some love it when their sex partner shaves their armpits and removes the fibers, making the armpit a smooth and silky place to lick all over.

It’s even reported that some celebrities allegedly share in this deliciously scented kink. Kristen Stewart was quoted in one interview, talking about her then partner, Robert Pattinson and their alleged armpit interactions. “I love the way he smells. And him me. Like, he loves to lick under my armpits,” she said. It shows that even the famous are attracted to kinky things too! She went on to say, “I don’t get this obsession with washing the smell off.”

Even if you’ve never thought you had this fetish before, it could be fun to try telling your partner not to wear deodorant for a few hours or even a day, and see how inhaling their unique scent affects your arousal and sexual play.

Great column. No, I had never heard of maschalagnia before, I don’t even think I can spell it, lol. And axillism, I must admit, sounds interesting. Pheromones, I have heard of, lol. I do think kinks are a good thing. Keeps the romance alive. There is a place one can find their kink partner, fetish-oriented personals dating sites. Some are pretty good and some are not. I am certain though that one will be able to find his or her underarm or otherwise ‘fetished’ partner there. 🙂
