What Kind of Kink Is Macrophilia?

The first time someone I met online mentioned macrophilia, I told him I wasn’t a size queen. Then he had to explain to me that macrophilia wasn’t about cock size, fat admiration, or chubby chasing.

We were getting all kinds of kinks and fetishes mixed up. I hadn’t heard of this particular kink yet then—the fascination with giantesses.

Microphilia and macrophilia aren’t about penis size or even about body size.

It’s not a realistic fantasy, but one that is more cinematic or comic book related. It’s the idea that a guy is super tiny, Lilliputian you could say, and the heroine is a skyscraper.

For many fetishists, part of the fantasy is the telescopic aspect—thinking about shrinking, or watching the giantess grow.

The vast majority of macrophiles are heterosexual dudes. The fetish is basically impossible to bring to life—it’s not a matter of a woman being a foot taller or really heavy. Indulging the kink is a matter of fantasy since this doesn’t exist in real life.

Part of the macrophile thing is how hot and sexual the thought of a towering giantess is. And there is a community out there that discusses not just getting off, but giants in mythology and folklore, shrinking stories in literature such as Alice in Wonderland, comic book plots, and hallucinations people have during psychosis, alcohol withdrawal, or just in meditation.

Have you ever closed your eyes and felt suddenly that you had no idea where the boundaries of your body were in relation to the room? I’ve done yoga meditation where I felt a million miles long suddenly. Many macrophiles like to discuss this kind of stuff. They trade artwork featuring exaggerated shrinking and growing, and put Photoshop to good use, superimposing images of women into landscapes so that she can look like a giant.

It is widely assumed that submission and domination are part of the kink, but macrophiles are not all into being submissive. Being small might not be about being overpowered at all, but about the aesthetic of looking up and being surrounded, it might include fantasies about penetration where a man’s whole body enters her pussy rather than just his cock. This kink can mix with others like vorarephilia—being eaten, or the fetish of being crushed by the object of your affection.

Not much analysis has been given to this kink, but one American doctor, Helen Friedman, suggested the heart of it is a dominant or sadistic mother, that the man was abused by his mother. This is perhaps too obvious a parallel, making too much symbolically of the sizes. After all, if one admires a massive work of art or falls in love with the Eiffel Tower, we don’t say it’s because the admirer wants to be obliterated or has a power struggle. Surely some macro fans have bad mothers, but the pool is wide. Some macro lovers are submissive, some aren’t.

Some guys think it’s just a leftover from childhood when cartoons and King Kong type fantasies began to get mixed up with special sexual feelings, in the same way other guys developed a fetish for pantyhose or chubby women when their immediate surroundings began to mix with hormonal awakenings.

I don’t have a specific macrophilia kink, but agree with all these guys anyhow. It’s just plain hot to think about a tower-tall female with a lasso.
