While kink and BDSM are in the mainstream media (not a lot, but they are there), it’s still not something most feel comfortable talking about at the water cooler. In fact, people are really good at hiding their kinky selves. In my experience, it’s always the quiet, shy ones who transform into fierce creatures behind closed doors. Not that I need to shout it from the rooftops, but I do wish there was more acceptance, and not such a tippy toeing around the subject with new lovers. I guess that’s what BDSM specific dating sites are for.
