I don’t know about some people, but I’ve always found dating in the winter months (if you even experience these) can be difficult. And knowing that many places that are normally warm this time of year are experiencing the polar vortex, it can be especially challenging. The last few years I began engaging in many more “winter activities” to help enjoy the season more, and these have also become great date ideas I can share with you.
To survive the winter months, try planning one of these five cool dates…
1. Ice Skating
Whether on a lake or on a local rink, this can be a super fun activity even if you do fall down. Large rinks often have skates for rent and occasionally music nights. And… it’s great exercise, so you may need to give her a massage afterwards.
2. Hockey Game
If you’d rather watch someone else skate around, this is a great game to enjoy with other fans. Not everyone can lives near a big arena or can afford an NHL game, but there’s plenty of smaller teams playing all the time, even in rural areas.
3. Tobogganing
For the young at heart, this is so much fun. Grab a pair of snowpants and off you go. You’ll be able to find a list of hills nearby on the internet and a cheap carpet or flying saucer-type toboggan will do. This can be an intimate experience with your date holding on tight as you zoom down the hill.
4. Skiing
If adult sport is more your thing, try cross-country skiing, or downhill (I recommend this only to those with experience unless you want to take a lesson together.)
5. Maple Syrup Making
This is only possible at the tail end of winter, usually mid-March. If you live in a big city, you may have to go on a little road trip (also fun!) to get to a place that welcomes visitors for tours and other activities. And if you like mixing food with sex, there’s nothing more delicious to lick off a woman’s body than real maple syrup.
Remember, read her online dating profile to help you plan a date that is suited to her interest. And… after you experience the cold, you’ll be eager to return to a cozy place where you can warm up together.
