Ways You Can Benefit by Being a Switch

They say that variety is the spice of life, and for many people that’s as true in a BDSM context as it is for life in general. No matter how much you might enjoy playing a set role in your relationship, it can be refreshing and exhilarating to change things up from time to time. This is where being a switch comes in very handy; if you’re flexible and comfortable in either a dominant or submissive role, it opens up countless possibilities and endless new experiences.

To truly maximize the range of your experiences, of course, it helps a lot to have a partner who is comfortable as a dom or sub, as well. That’s a bridge too far for a lot of people, however; they get comfortable as master or slave, and simply can’t step into the opposite role. Those who can are rewarded with enhanced intimacy and pleasure, as well as a deeper connection with their partners.

How does trading places partnership make for a more profound connection between partners? Among other things, swapping roles requires trust, just as establishing a static dom/sub relationship does. For the submissive, being given control for a change lets them know that their partner is willing to reward their obedience through reciprocation. For the dom, it’s a chance to walk a mile in your partner’s restraints, so to speak, giving you a new appreciation for their perspective and greater appreciation for their end of the experience.

Naturally, being a switch presents the greatest advantage when you’re not exclusive to one partner. It greatly expands the number of your potential partners and enables you to seek out a far wider range of experiences and encounters.

Obviously, being a switch isn’t for everybody, but if you’ve ever thought about giving it a shot, you should go for it. The worst that can happen is that you find out switching isn’t for you; on the other hand, you might just open up a whole new world of pleasures, just waiting to be discovered.
