What is a Castration Fetish?
Some guys have a castration kink. The castration fetish can range from curiosity and fantasy about what it would feel like to have your penis removed, to an intense desire to be castrated, with sexual pleasure accompanying the fantasy.
In extreme cases, the castration fetish is played out to its ultimate finale, and the fetishist actually undergoes castration. This could be chemical castration, which is safer and possibly (not always) temporary, surgical testicle removal, surgical complete penis removal, or home removal.

Stories of Castration Fetish
Mao Sugiyama is a Japanese performance artist whose claim to fame was being voluntarily castrated in 2012. He had his penis and nipples surgically removed in an apparent quest to promote “gender equality.” Then, he hosted a banquet and served himself for dinner, along with beef, crocodile, and button mushrooms.
Reportedly, five guests paid the big bucks to eat his penis. The rest abstained.
Recently, in England, cops raided a home where a group of gay men were arrested. They were practicing, castrated members of a body modification cult. Their castrations were shown on film to others with a castration fetish. The filmmaker, also castrated, dubbed himself The Eunuch Maker.
Kinks Close to Castration Fetish
As a fetish, castration desire can be connected with numerous other kinks and fetishes, or stand alone.
BDSM
Most commonly, castration kink is an extreme variant of BDSM. Castration play is clearly an ultimate manifestation of bondage, as well as discipline, and of submission. It is also a possible play on both ends of sadism and masochism.
Humiliation
Men who get off by extreme humiliation may naturally see castration as the ultimate humiliation. This fantasy may be an extension of the small penis humiliation they endure.

The men recently arrested for distributing castration pornography were nullos. Nullos, sometimes called “smoothies,” are usually gay-identifying men who are into extreme body modification. There is a longstanding subculture of nullos going back at least 1970s.
In the 80s when body modification and the “modern primitive” movement really got going, forms of genital mutilation or modification became popular. From simple adornment like body piercing to tribal initiation rites from other cultures, people became more experimental with their genitalia. Gay men who wanted to “nullify” their genitalia became a subculture of smoothies.

Body modification was not limited to gay men. Various rites from tribal cultures have been borrowed, and are viewed as celebrations of heterosexual masculinity. Transgender/Agender
To be clear, for most transgender women, sexual reassignment surgery to transform their sexual organs from penis to vagina is NOT a castration fetish. It is a medical intervention for gender dysphoria or to help her reflect her true identity externally.
That said, some castration fetishists express their desire to become female or more commonly, as the performance artist Mao Sugiyama, to become gender neutral or agender.
Women with a Castration Kink
In some cases, the castration fetishist is a woman. She wants to perform a castration on her sub, or have him submit to her femdom demands, the ultimate sissification act.
Castration Play
Castration play is simply playing at the castration kink fantasy without actually castrating the subject. The vast majority of guys with a castration kink limit their practice and experimentation to play.
Castration play can involve role play, make believe enactment, simulated castration, chastity belts that enforce pretend castration, watching castration porn, or advanced cock and ball torture.

The History of Castration
Castration has a long and ugly history. It was sometimes used by slavers—European, American, North African, Middle Eastern—to punish slaves for suspected rape, or worse, as blanket prevention of sexual activity. It was used for religious purposes of control. It was used to keep voices pre-pubescent and soprano in music—men who sang “like angels” were called castrati. It has been used in ancient and modern times to punish sex offenders or prevent further indulgence.
Castration has been used medically to treat cancer or other serious diseases that have affected the genitalia. There have also been cults from the ancient pagan days of goddess temples wherein men volunteered to become eunuchs for worship. And modern day cults like Heaven’s Gate, where folks in purple and sneakers committed suicide collectively, convinced they were boarding a UFO. They had all been castrated as part of their secret religion.
Through history, there have been incidents of self-mutilation as well as enforced or medically required surgical intervention. Men cutting off their own penis were usually institutionalized and seen as mad. Men who mutilate their own genitalia may be driven by body dysmorphia, or they may want to remove an organ they are ashamed of or feel they can’t control—for example, many sex offenders or men experiencing a desire for children or other taboo attractions want removal for relief.
