Does caressing or kissing a woman’s neck turn you on beyond belief?
What Is a Neck Fetish?
The neck fetish involves being sexually aroused by any or all aspects of the neck. It may be purely visually, seeing a long beautiful neck, or tactile, touching and stroking, or something more intense like biting or choking.
A neck fetish, like most kinks, can be mild all the way to violent, or somewhere in between. It can be an individual kink that you enjoy solo or with a partner who is willing to indulge you, or it can be shared.

12 Neck and Throat Fetishes
1. Breathing and Blowing
This is often foreplay for many who wouldn’t even consider this a neck fetish. Nuzzling your lover’s neck invites a warm breath that make their heart beat faster. It’s gentle and alluring and loving. You don’t need to ask your lover if this is okay because it’s so natural.
2. Neck Kissing
When you use the word “necking” to describe deep long-lasting kissing, it doesn’t always mean your lips are only on her neck, but they might be if you have a neck fetish!
There’s no reason why you shouldn’t leave her lips to explore the smooth delicate skin of her neck with your lips. You may even want to lick or nibble while you’re there. Many women find kisses on the neck to be a very intimate, romantic move made by long-time lovers, not something expected or necessarily invited from a hookup.

3. Sensory Play
Most couples enjoy sensory play. After all, just touching one another is part of sensation play. You may like to blindfold your lover and stroke her neck with a feather or vibrator.
You can explore sensory play with warming agents or something colder like an ice cube. The neck is very sensitive so go slow with your sensation exploration—what might seem titillating to you, may be uncomfortable for your lover.

4. Neck Massage
Something almost every woman does appreciate is a good neck rub or sensual massage. And it doesn’t have to lead to sex, but that’s what a neck fetishist would likely desire.
Warm your hands by rubbing them together or with a warming oil before gently rubbing up and down her neck. Involve the shoulders and perhaps other parts of her body. A good neck massage can be a super sensual way to start things off. It’s relaxing and arousing at the same time. And don’t be afraid to pepper her neck with kisses and your breath in between.

5. Hickey Fetish
Do you remember trying to hide a hickey on your neck in high school, with a scarf or turtleneck? I sure do!
A hickey is a dark red or purple mark left on one’s skin (usually the neck area) when a lover sucks the flesh. The suction draws the blood vessels to the outer layer of the delicate skin on the neck and leaves a mark. It usually lasts a few days up to a week.
Some people may see a hickey as a sign of ownership, but most just see it as playful or annoying. But if you have a hickey fetish, you might play around with placement and patterns.
6. Deep Throat Fetish
A staple in porn, you’d think every guy loves to deep throat and every woman welcomes it—not true.
The deep throat fetish involves shoving one’s cock down a partner’s throat, usually until they gag which also may be a fetish for the giver. This type of dominant man often likes his sub on her knees, anticipating his plunge. He may grab the back of her head to pull towards him. If this is your thing, always ask before you try it.

7. Choking Kink
The chocking fetish can be a branch of deep throating, or it can be it’s own thing that involves hands around another’s neck. It may be part of a BDSM roleplay, acting out a rape fantasy or home invasion.
Sexual choking is not something to fool around with, and all participants must consent and use safety precautions such as safe words. Pretending to choke someone is not for BDSM newbies.

8. Erotic Asphyxiation
Erotic Asphyxiation is another type of breath play or edgeplay that some BDSM enthusiasts practice.
EA involves cutting off the breathing airway while masturbating. This is often done solo—autoerotic asphyxiation. You will have likely read about individuals found dead from this practice. If this is something you are interested in, I recommend consulting a professional and avoid practicing breath play alone.

9. Biting/Vampire Kink
You don’t have to break skin to indulge in a neck biting kink, but for some, that’s the point. Some people have a teeth fetish and biting is an offshoot of that kink.
Vampires have always been popular in the BDSM and goth communities, so naturally there will be those who find biting to be part of the allure and seduction. Biting is a neck fetish that requires good hygiene and safety precautions.

10. BDSM Collars
Wearing a BDSM collar in a dom-sub relationship doesn’t necessarily mean you have a neck fetish. It might just mean you are committed to your master or mistress, and what that collar means will be as individual as both the dom and sub involved. The dominant partner may choose the collar, decide when and where their sub wears it, and what it signifies.

11. Neck Tattoos
Some neck fetishists may choose to tattoo their neck or their lovers even. Many tattoo enthusiasts say this can be one of the most painful areas to tattoo because the flesh is uneven, veiny, and delicate. Some tattooists shy away from this area or will make sure their client is absolutely positive they want this area tatted, as it is not only painful, but draws eyes and sometimes judgement.
12. Neck Stockades
For kinky folks with a neck fetish and who also enjoy hardcore domination, restraint and/or humiliation, neck stockades may be part of their pleasure. Neck stockades are a type of board (usually wood) that joins around the neck, and sometimes wrists, and causes the submissive to be locked in place.
A neck stockade will immobilize a sub and give a dom more control. It’s not suitable for someone with neck pain and/or claustrophobia and must be done consensually.
